How we're paid
Prime Harbor Insurance is an independent insurance agency and brokerage. When a client buys a policy through us, the insurance company usually pays our agency a commission.
The client pays the insurance company for the policy. The client does not pay Prime Harbor Insurance a separate broker fee, consultation fee, service fee, policy fee, or application fee.
Commissions vary by insurance company, product, policy type, state, premium amount, underwriting class, and whether the policy is new or renewing.
Other compensation
Insurance companies may offer agencies other pay or support. This can include bonuses, overrides, marketing support, training support, technology support, service support, trips, conferences, or volume and quality incentives.
These items do not remove our duty to help clients compare coverage based on need and fit. They do not let Prime Harbor Insurance change a policy, waive exclusions, set premiums, guarantee approval, or decide claims.
How we manage conflicts
Commission pay can create a concern because an agency is paid when a policy is issued. We take that concern seriously.
Prime Harbor Insurance manages that concern by focusing on the client's needs, coverage fit, clear explanations, and honest applications. We do not recommend a policy just because it pays more.
We compare options based on needs, budget, eligibility, and policy terms.
We explain limits, waiting periods, exclusions, and cost differences when they matter.
Prime Harbor Insurance's compensation plan for licensed agents is salary-based, not built around individual policy commissions.
Our role with clients and insurance companies
Prime Harbor Insurance helps clients understand options, compare available companies, complete applications, and service policies.
During the selection process, our responsibility is to help the client pursue coverage that fits their needs, budget, eligibility, and goals.
Insurance applications must also be truthful and complete. We must follow insurance company rules, respect underwriting, and avoid changing or hiding material facts.
The insurance company controls final approval, pricing, policy issue, claim decisions, renewals, cancellations, and contract terms.
No extra agency fee
Using Prime Harbor Insurance does not add a separate fee from our agency.
Policy premiums, carrier policy fees, state fees, and other insurance-company charges are set and disclosed by the insurance company.
If another company or agency offers a different price, compare the coverage details, not just the premium.
Our standard
Compensation should never be the reason a client is pushed into the wrong coverage. Prime Harbor Insurance is built around clear answers, honest comparisons, accurate applications, and long-term service.
